Maintaining Sustainable Groundwater in the

Bear Valley Basin

AT6I9870.JPG
Groundwater Is an Important Water Source for our Community

During a normal year, groundwater provides over 35 percent of Southern California's drinking water. Effective use of local groundwater basins is an important component of the region's water supply plan.

Several agencies have partnered together to develop a Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) for the Bear Valley Basin in compliance with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act. The GSP was completed in January 2022. Thank you to all the stakeholders within and surrounding the Basin who participated in its development.
